Home My WebLink AboutJ3 Affordable Housing Task Force Memo Commission Memorandum REPORT TO: Honorable Mayor and City Commission FROM: Brit Fontenot, City Clerk Chris Kukulski, City Manager SUBJECT: Workforce Housing Task Force MEETING DATE: August 14, 2006 BACKGROUND: During the Commission meeting of August 7, 2006 the Commission changed the name of the Task Force from Inclusionary Housing Ordinance Task Force to the Affordable Housing Task Force and directed staff to advertise for applications to the Task Force for an additional week (see attached advertisement). Additionally, the Commission re-stated the goals of the Task Force as follows: “[T]he goal of the Task Force is to make recommendations to develop an adequate supply of affordable housing and examine any other alternatives that will increase the supply of affordable housing, attention should be given to Section 3, individualized program.” At the Commission meeting on July 31st, 2006 it was determined that membership should include one representative from the following categories: Developer/Builder Business Person Lender Realtor Chamber of Commerce Community Affordable Housing Advisory Board (CAHAB) Habitat for Humanity Montana State University Representative School District Teacher Citizen at Large Attached is an updated list of the applicants including stated qualifications and abilities as submitted by the applicants (see attached applicant information). RECOMMENDATION: Review applications and appoint Task Force members. FISCAL EFFECTS: None. ALTERNATIVES: As suggested by the City Commission.
