SUBJECT: Workforce Housing Task Force
MEETING DATE: August 14, 2006
BACKGROUND: During the Commission meeting of August 7, 2006 the Commission changed the
name of the Task Force from Inclusionary Housing Ordinance Task Force to the Affordable Housing
Task Force and directed staff to advertise for applications to the Task Force for an additional week (see
attached advertisement). Additionally, the Commission re-stated the goals of the Task Force as follows:
“[T]he goal of the Task Force is to make recommendations to develop an adequate supply of
affordable housing and examine any other alternatives that will increase the supply of affordable
housing, attention should be given to Section 3, individualized program.”
At the Commission meeting on July 31st, 2006 it was determined that membership should include one
representative from the following categories:
Developer/Builder
Business Person
Lender
Realtor
Chamber of Commerce
Community Affordable Housing Advisory Board (CAHAB)
Habitat for Humanity
Montana State University Representative
School District Teacher
Citizen at Large
Attached is an updated list of the applicants including stated qualifications and abilities as submitted by
the applicants (see attached applicant information).
RECOMMENDATION: Review applications and appoint Task Force members.
FISCAL EFFECTS: None.
ALTERNATIVES: As suggested by the City Commission.

SPECIAL NOTICE
DEADLINE - MONDAY, AUGUST 14, 2006
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Bozeman City Commission is currently seeking
applications for the following: Affordable Housing Task Force (Task Force).
The Goals of the Task Force are to make recommendations to the City Commission to
develop an adequate supply of affordable housing. The Task Force will also examine any other
alternatives that will increase the supply of affordable housing in Bozeman. Special attention
should be given to Section 3, individualized program. The work of the Task Force should be
completed by October 16, 2006.
Please submit written interest to, or apply in person at, the Office of the City Clerk, City
Hall, 411 East Main Street, Bozeman, Montana, during regular business hours, or via email at
agenda@bozeman.net. Please contact the City Clerk’s Office for more information at 406-582-
2320.
The deadline for all applications is 5:00 p.m. on Monday, August 14, 2006.
