OBJECTIVE
A volunteer position on the Wetlands Review Board for the City of Bozeman, Montana.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Communications, Community Outreach, and Management
♦ Integrated Weed Control: owner of weed control consulting business; responsible for creating
and presenting training seminars on weed management, land rehabilitation, long-range planning,
monitoring of invasive species, and control of weeds in wetlands.
♦ Gallatin County Local Water Quality District: community outreach and education.
♦ Human Resource and Development Council: employee education, training, placement and
management for area agencies and businesses.
♦ Authored and received funding for over one million dollars of education, community outreach,
and employment assistance grants.
♦ Administered all funded grants and proposals: budgeting, accounting, reporting, and personnel
management.
♦ Designed and conducted community education and employee training programs.
♦ Managed youth, adult, and older worker employment programs.
♦ Developed and implemented alternative educational program for at-risk youth in local high
school.
Project Management (including GPS and GIS Projects)
♦ Integrated Weed Control: owner of weed control consulting business; responsible for training
employees, generating reports, website updates, marketing, customer support, accounting, and
bookkeeping.
♦ Gallatin County: provider of GPS and GIS training services to employees of the Gallatin County
Environmental Health Department (while employed by the Local Water Quality District).
♦ Designer and author of weed and biological control inventory and mapping (fishing access sites
for Montana Department of Fish, Wildlife and Parks; resource assessment for the Bozeman
Watershed Council; weed mapping for public lands).
♦ Instructor for the Veteran's Upward Bound Program (GPS and GIS courses).
♦ Instructor for the 1996 and 1997 Montana Noxious Weed Trust GPS/GIS seminars.
♦ Presenter of hands-on GPS mapping clinic for the Montana State University chapter of MARLS
(Montana Association of Registered Land Surveyors).
♦ Student instructor at the 1997 Montana-Idaho GIS Conference.
♦ Mapping consultant for other local companies and agencies.
Water Quality Instruction and Research
♦ Civil Engineering Department, Montana State University, Bozeman, adjunct professor: courses
include Senior Design, technical writing, computer programming, and water resources (covering
wastewater treatment systems, natural/constructed wetlands, and septic systems in areas of
concern--wetlands, high water tables, steep and sensitive sites, etc.)
♦ Center for Biofilm Engineering, MSU, Bozeman Montana: completed research funded by the
Drinking Water Assistance Program and the Montana Water Resources Center. Conducted full-
scale and laboratory-scale experiments for comparison of alternative versus traditional
disinfection treatment processes for removal of biofilm from distribution systems; set-up,
operated, and monitored pipe reactors and annular reactors;performed chemical,physical, and
microbiological water analyses; analyzed,compiled, and presented results of all experiments
and analyses.
Environmental Consulting
♦ Roy F. Weston, Inc., Bozeman, Montana: entry-level field and administrative support involving
EPA oversight,environmental site assessments,wetlands impact,map construction, field
sampling,technical writing, and final document preparation.

sampling,regulatory reporting, and final document preparation.
♦ Environmental Assessment Services, Bozeman, Montana: mapping, writing,reporting, and

Service for dissemination to installers, sanitarian,and engineers.
♦ Biological Weed Control Program Report: prepared for Montana Department of Fish, Wildlife,
and Parks for use in justifying current weed management funds and securing future funding;
presented to the 1996 Montana State Legislature. GPS data also published in the Montana
Department of Agriculture Noxious Weed Trust Fund publication, "Mapping Noxious Weeds in
Montana"(MSU Extension Service, 1998).
♦ Evaluation of Mixed-Oxidants for the Disinfection and Removal of Biofilms from Distribution
Systems: published in the proceedings of the 1997 AWWA Water Quality Technology
Conference; presented at the conference.
♦ Evaluation of Mixed-Oxidants Against Sodium Hypochlorite for the Disinfection and Removal
of Biofilms from Distribution Systems: Montana Water Center small drinking water system
research publication; presented at the 1997 American Water Resources Association Conference.
