Dear Bozeman/Gallatin County official,
After I told Debbie Arkell about plans for the Bozeman United Methodist Church to show the
movie Trashed on Sunday May 4th at 6 pm, she suggested that I invite you to attend,
thinking that you would be interested in the topic.
The British actor Jeremy Irons stars in this recent 97 minute documentary which "looks at
the risks to the food chain and environment through pollution of our air, land and sea by
waste."
I first heard of the film on an interview with Jeremy Irons on Montana PBS. The Bozeman
Public Library has a copy of the film on DVD, and I've obtained permission for the film to be
shown at the church (located at 121 South Willson, the corner of South Willson and Olive).
Since you don't know me, and might have been reluctant to open an attachment sent to you
unsolicited, I'm sending a second email that has two attachments -- one the movie poster
for Trashed, and the second a larger file that is the press release information packet about
the film.
I've watched the video myself, and am very impressed with the importance of the message,
which I look forward to sharing with you. If you cannot attend the showing, you can check
the video out from the library yourself (anytime after May 4th).
As the publicists for the movie say: "Trashed ends on a message of hope by showing how
the risks to our survival can easily be averted through sustainable, non-polluting approaches
that provide far more employment than the current standard waste industry methods."
I hope you'll be able to join members of the Bozeman United Methodist Church on Sunday
May 4th at 6 pm, and provide your input at the discussion which will follow the showing of
Trashed.
Sincerely,
Frank
