RE: Authorization to Proceed with Pre-Construction Phase Services
Dear Chuck:
We have mutually agreed to provide a condensed agreement authorizing the start of Pre-Bond
Pre-Construction Services on the above referenced project in order to allow time for the City
Attorney to complete his review of the full AIA contract documents. This letter and the
signatures below shall constitute such an agreement per the terms outlined below.
Langlas &Associates, Inc. is hereby authorized to begin Pre-Bond Pre-Construction
Services for the City of Bozeman Police and Courts Facility. The scope of services shall
be as outlined within the City's Request for Proposals (RFP)for General Contractor/
Construction Manager Services for said project, dated 3/26/14, and inclusive of Scope of
Services items 1- 16 (pgs. 4 and 5). Reference in the RFP to "estimates during
construction document design phase" shall not apply to this letter agreement as such
estimates will be a component of post-bond pre-construction services. Work shall be
begin as of the date of this letter and continue through the bond election in November,
2014. Compensation to Langlas &Associates for Pre-Bond Pre-Construction Services
through November, 2014 shall be a lump sum of$25,000, billable via progress payments
in accordance with the percentage of work complete.
It is our intent that this Authorization to Proceed will eventually be superseded by the
complete, executed AIA A133 and A201 contract documents as mutually acceptable to
the City and Langlas, It is also our intent that mutually acceptable contract terms be
reached within thirty (30) days of the date of this letter.
