Message: NDO: Hopefully we will have an NDO with criminal penalties, but if not,the NBA has shown that criminal penalties are not necessary. Rather than a 2.5million dollar fine and being banned for slife from doing business for life, I suggest amore modest penalty. 1st offence: $1,000 fine. 2nd Offense: $10,000 fine + 6months in jail at their own expense. 3rd offense: $20,000 fine + 12 months in jail attheir own expense; etc., since they have proven themselves a repeat offender. Asecond approach would be for those who do not wish to deal with people sexuallydifferent than themselves to post a symbol (e.g., rainbow with a circle around it andline line through it) prominentaly in the place of business and in all ads, includingweb sites. Those not wishing to deal with such a business would then know to avoidthem. If they do not post such notices but then discriminate, the above penaltieswould be in effect.
