Dear City Commissioners,
Tonight you will deciding if Bozeman should move forward with adopting a
non-discrimination ordinance. I wanted to make sure to add my two cents,
even at the last minute.
I moved to Bozeman almost three years ago form Missoula. Witnessing
Missoula pass its non-discrimination ordinance was one of the days I felt most
proud to be a Missoulian. The community came together to help ensure a safe
and welcoming community for all our citizens. The aftermath of the ordinance
passing (despite all the scare tactics) -- was just that -- the creation of a safer
and more welcoming community.
Now that I proudly call Bozeman home, I hope that our community can be on
the right side of history and move forward with this positive change. I can tell
you this action is something you will look back on with pride, knowing that
you acted bravely in the face of fear and hesitation.
Let's make sure Bozeman is the next community to take this stand for justice
and inclusion. It is time.
Thank you for your service,
