HomeMy WebLinkAboutNon-Discrimination Public Comment from Tamara Miller 4-28-14From:Tamara Miller To:Agenda Subject:Fair is fair - NDO Date:Monday, April 28, 2014 9:38:13 AM Dear Mayor Krauss, Deputy Mayor Taylor, and Commissioners Mehl, Pomeroy, andAndrus, I have had the privilege of attending a number of recent Commission meetings andlistened carefully to the public comment on the prospect of a non-descriminationordinance for Bozeman. I am impressed with both the process and the ernest andoften dignified expressions of both support and concern. I strongly urge the Commission to pass this ordinance. It is clear to me thatit is needed. Bozeman should ensure that all its citizens are equally protected in thepublic spheres of employment, housing and public accommodation. There is no small irony in the public comments of opponents who see no need forthis ordinance (there are already laws preventing discrimination) and then list themany ways in which they would choose to discriminate against their LGBT neighborsand fellow citizens. Thank you for your invaluable service to the Bozeman community, Tamara Miller 1045 Boylan Rd. #15Bozeman, MT 59715
