HomeMy WebLinkAboutNon-Discrimination Public Comment from Rev. Dr. Nina Grey 4-28-14From:Nina Grey To:Agenda; Nina D. Grey Subject:Non-Discrimination Ordinance Date:Monday, April 28, 2014 8:20:05 AM Dear Mayor and City Commissioners of Bozeman, I want to express my sincere gratitude to you for moving forward with the draft of thenondiscrimination ordinance which will be discussed at the commission meeting tonight. I believe it is acomprehensive approach, inclusive of the rights of all persons, regardless of sexual orientation, gender, and gender expression, to equal access in housing, employment, and public accommodations, while alsopreserving essential religious freedom. It deserves your support. Thank you for making the space inyour commission meeting so that all points of view may be heard. As a religious leader, the Minister of the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Bozeman, I represent notonly myself but my congregation in urging support of the nondiscrimination ordinance. I will be unableto attend the commission meeting tonight because I am home at 4050 W. Babcock St., Apt. 56, ill withpneumonia. I have attended several of the meetings where the nondiscrimination ordinance was amatter of public comment and I have spoken supporting a nondiscrimination ordinance in Bozeman onmy and my congregations behalf there twice. Several members of my congregation were present and Iam hoping that there will be a good representation of them there tonight. Meanwhile I will be there withyou in spirit. With my very warmest regards and thanks again for moving forward to present this draft for publiccomment and to consider it and hopefully support it as well. It is, in my opinion the fair, the moral, andthe just step to take for our wonderful city. It will affirm and reaffirm our commitment to being anopen, safe and welcoming city for all. That is the message we want people to know and to hear. Rev. Dr. Nina D. Grey4050 W. Babcock St., Apt. 56Bozeman, MT 59718 Sent from my iPhone
