HomeMy WebLinkAboutNon-Discrimination Ordinance Public Comment from Heidi Welch 4-22-14 Heidi Welch 1320 Candlelight Drive P.O.B. 11623 Bozeman, MT 59719 April 18, 2014 Dear Commissioner Pomeroy, I hope this letter finds you well on this windy Friday! I am employed in Bozeman and do my banking, shopping and business in Bozeman. The NDO is a non-issue. We have all seen the signs now and again that say: NO SHOES, NO SHIRT, NO SERVICE,on the doors of some businesses. No one questions the right of the business owner to be discerning in who he will do business within those instances. The business owner has put that sign up for the well being of his business. The business owner is exercising his legal right for the First Amendment. Don't other businesses have that right? It has nothing to do with hate, it is purely a First Amendment issue. Why does it matter that pedophiles identity with being heterosexual? They are pedophiles! The issue is of extreme concern that these people and any other sort that are curious could walk into a Ladies' Locker Room and be allowed to stay there is unconscionable, don't you think? For the government to force businesses to hire people that do not fit in with the business's culture,as well as,forcing businesses to have special bathrooms, is going where government should not be, isn't it? There is no need to pander to such a small percent of society, when in fact Bozeman does not even have a problem of any kind. There are out of state forces here, wanting to make Bozeman leave it's good sense behind. Regards, W - W-&e- A Heidi Welch
