COMMISSION RESOLUTION NO. 1263
A RESOLUTION OF THE COWtISSION OF THE CITY OF' BOZEMAN
DECLARING IT TO BE TO THE BlZST INTEREST OF THE CITY OF
BOZEMAN AND THE INHABITANTS THEREOF AND OF THE INHABITANTS
OF A TRACT OF LAND CONTIGUOUS TO THE SAID CITY OF' BOZEMAN
AND HEREIN MORE PA~TICULARLY DES81UBED 'T'O EXTEND THE
BOUNDARIES OF THE SAID CITY OF BOZEMAN SO AS TO INCLUDE THE

SAID CONTIGUOUS TRACT WITHIN THE CORPORATE LIMITS THEREOF.
WHEREAS, there haa been presented to the City Commission of the City of
Bozeman a written and verbal request petitioning the sai'~ City Commission to
extend the boundaries of the City of Bozeman so as to include certain contiguous
tracts of land within the boundaries of the City of Bozeman and having presented
to the Ci ty of Bozeman propose;:, pIa ts ani~ certifica te of survey of said land; and
WHEREAS, the proper legal
description of said contiguous tracts located
in the County of Gallatin, State of Montana, is as follows:
Beginning at the Northeast corner of the Southwest one-
quarter of the Southwest one-quarter of Section 12,
Township
2 South, Range 5 East, M.P.M.; thence at a bearin~ of South
88.43'24" West along the southerly line of the NW4"8Wi a dis-
tance of 1344.66 feet to the westerly line of said Section
12; thence North 1.07'35" West along the westerly line of
said Section 12 a distance of 1333.14 feet to the one-quarter
corner common to Sections 11 and 12; thence North 88-43'44"
East along the northerly line of the Southwest one-quarter
of Section 12 a distance of 1355.63 feet to the northeast
corner of the wntswi of Section 12; thence at a bearing of
North 88-43'55" East a distance of 69.28 feet; thence at a
bearing of North 2.27'15" East a distance of 262.73 feet to
a point on the southerly right of way line of Highway No.
191 as now constructed; thence in a westerly directIon along
the southerly right of way line and at a bear:I.ng of South

88.39'05" West a distance of 804.33 feet; thence at a bear-
ing of North 0.36'41" East a distance of 110.39 feet to a
point on the northerly right of way line of Highway No. 191
as now constructed; thence in an easterly direction bearing
North 89.41' East along the northerly right of way line of
sai5 Highway No. 191 as now constructed a distance of 2089.25
feet to a point on the north south one-quarter line of said
Section 12; thence southerly along the said north south one-
quarter or mid-section line a. distance of 3.76 feet to the
center of Section 12; thence continuing southerly along the
said one-quarter or mid-section line being the easterly line
of NW-iswi of Section 12 a distance of 660 feet to the north-
east corner of the West SL~,e Addition to the City of Bozeman;
thence in a westerly direction along the northerly line of
said West Side Addition, also being the northerly line of
Werre Rearrangement of Blocks 3,4, 5, 6 and West portion of
Blocks 2 and 7 of West Side Addition and Corcoran's Rearrange-
ment of Blocks 3, 4" 5 and 6 of West Side Addition being a
bearing of North 89-54' West a distance of 1355_1 feet to the
easterly line of the Northwest one-quarter of the Southwest
one-quarter (NWisw!) of said Section 12, thence southerly
along the said easterly line of the said NW!SWt a distance
of~674.25 feet to the point of beginning.
WHEREA S, it will be for the best interest of the City of Bozeman and the
inhabitants thereof and of the inhabitants of the contiguous tracts hereinbefore
described to ex tenrl the boundaries of tbe Cl ty of E'ozeman so as to include the
said contiguous tracts hereinbefore described w1+hin the corpora te 1imi ts of I
the said City of Bozeman.
NOW, tT'HEREF'ORE, BE IT RESOLVED EY THE COMMISSI1N OF THE CITY OF BOZEMAN :
Section 1. 'That pursuant to the provisions of Section 11-403 Revised Codes
of Montana, 1947, it is hereby declared to be to the best interest of the City
of Bozeman and the J1nhabitants thereof and of the inhabitants of the contiguous
tracts hereinbefore described that the boundaries of the said City of Bozeman

be extended so as to include the contiguous tracts hereinbefore described within
the boundaries and corporate limits of the City of Bozeman, Montana.
PASSED AND ADOPTE~') by the Commission of the City of Bozeman, Montana, at a
regular session held on the 27th day of April, 1966.

COMMISSION RESOLUTION NO. 1263 OF THE CTTY OI,1 BOZEMAN STATING
THE INTENTION OF THE: CITY OOMMISSION TO EXTE:ND '!HE BOUNDARIES
OF SAID CITY OF BOZEMAN TO EMBRACE AND INCLUDE A CERTAIN
TRACT OF LAND ADJOINING SAID CITY.
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on the 27th day of April, 1966, at a regular
meeting of the City Commission of the City of Bozeman, the said Commission
duly
and regularly passed and adopted Commission Resolution No. 1263 entitled:
"A RESOLUTION OF THE COMMISSIlN OF 'l'RE CITY OF BOZEMAN DE.
CLARING IT TO BE TO THE B::'~ST INTEREST OF THE CITY OF BOZEMAN
AND THE INHABITANTS THF..REOF AND OF THE INHABITANTS OF A TRACT
OF LAND CONTIGUOUS fro THE SAID CITY OF BOZEY.AN AND HEREIN
MORE PARTICULARLY DESCRIBED TO EXTEND 'THE BOUNDARIES OF THE
SAID CITY OF BOZEMAN SO AS TO INCLUDE THE SAID CONTIGUOUS
TRACT WITHIN THE CORPORATE LIMITS THEREOF. n
I NOTICE IS HEREBY FURTHER GIVEN tha t Wednesda y,
the 25th day of May, 1966, at
one o'clock p.m., at the Commission Room of the City Hall, Bozeman, Montana, 1s
designated as the time and place for hearinIT, objections to the action proposed to
be taken 1n said Resolution No. 1263, whereby it 1s proposed to embrace the here-
inafter described cont1ngent territory within the corporate limits of the City of
Bozeman, Nontana. Expressions of approval or -~lsapproval by resident
freeholders
of the territory proposed to be embraced must be made in writing and filed with
the Clerk of the City Commission of the City of Bozeman not later than twenty
(20) days after the date of the first publication of this Notice.
A description of the boundaries of the territory proposed to be embraced
by said Commission Resolution No. 1263 is as follows:
Beginning at the Northeast corner of the Southwest one-quarter
of the Southwest one-quarter of Section 12, Township 2 South,
Range 5 East, M.P.M.; thence at a bearing of South 88.43'24"
