Mayor and Commission Members,
Two items on the agenda are related- North Park and the Sports Park.
The North Park property is the perfect location for the Sports Park. It is city owned,
easily accessed, close to hotels and restaurants, and provides TRAIL
CONNECTIVITY. By creating a trail that connects Cherry Creek to Mandeville
Lane/Baxter Lane/North 11th the connection of the east and west trails is
attained. The area is large enough to also build an aquatic complex
The sale price currently offered to private parties is of greater benefit to the taxpayers
and city as a sports park that will bring dollars to the city. It will also PRESERVE
LAND that is in the entry way corrider.
Using the assets the city owns to fulfill needs is a better solution than looking
elsewhere.
