To Honorable Mayor and City Commissioners:
I am writing to express support for the funding consideration in front of you this evening regarding
Trust For Public Land’s (TPL) request from the TOP Bond Fund for the Story Mill Park Project.
Homeword is working in partnership with the Human Resource Council (HRDC District IX) to explore
feasibility of a model neighborhood to provide sustainable, affordable housing for working families
in Bozeman. Homeword is committed to providing safe, healthy, affordable housing using
sustainable methods and promoting strong communities through housing counseling and education
for those most in need. We are headquartered in Missoula, have a satellite office in Billings and have
developed affordable housing properties around the state of Montana. Please visit our website if

TPL has responded to community need identified in the Bozeman Affordable Housing Action Plan by
retaining eight acres on the Story Mill site to explore housing options appropriate for that area and
the greater community. We believe the model neighborhood will complement the Park and the
coordination with TPL’s park plans allows permanent connectivity of existing trails and expands the
larger multi-modal trail system for the community of Bozeman. We feel fortunate to be working
with a such a dynamic team to help address critical housing needs for Bozeman’s residents.
