Dear Bozeman City Commission,
I respectfully submit this message to express my support and ask for your approvalof the Story Mill Community Park Proposal.
We have a unique opportunity, as a community, to secure and transform thisproperty for the enjoyment and recreation of Bozeman residents for generations tocome. With the rapid development of our community, this is an opportunity not tobe missed and I ask that you vote YES to approve this important proposal.
I have been awed by the inclusive process through which our community hasengaged in the future plan for this 54-acre site. I initially engaged in theconversation because of my personal and professional interest in finding moreopportunity for children and families to engage in food and agriculture within ourcommunity. However, this project has become much more than that to me. It is anincredible example of a community's self-determination of a landscape that supportsa healthy lifestyle and vibrant quality of life.
As I speak about this project to friends and colleagues, I always say that we've beengranted an amazing opportunity through the actions of the Trust for Public Lands(TPL). TPL has allowed us, as a community, to hit the "pause" button - ensuringthat this land was held, as we took the time to carefully and collectively determinewhat we wanted to do with this important site.
We have gone through this process and the proposal before you is one that hasbeen penned by the citizens of Bozeman.
Thank you for your ongoing service to the community of Bozeman and for yoursupport of this important proposal.
