HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution 4515 Dissolving the Community Alcohol Coalition C0 COMMISSION RESOLUTION NO. 4515 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF BOZEMAN, MONTANA, DISSOLVING THE CITY COMMISSION APPOINTED VOLUNTEER COMMUNITY ALCOHOL COALITION. WHEREAS, the City Commission passed Resolution 3611 in August of 2003 creating the Community Alcohol Coalition (CAC) based on the recommendation of the Bozeman Alcohol Policy Advisory Council (BPAC), a temporary group that studied issues of underage alcohol consumption, high risk drinking behaviors and related issues; and WHEREAS, the purpose and scope of the CAC was to examine these issues further and to advance the top priorities of the BPAC and make recommendations to the City Commission as necessary; and WHEREAS, the Community Alcohol Coalition has served an important role in the last ten years and accomplished many of the top priorities of the BPAC including advocating for a state-wide keg registry that is now in place, helping to establish special server training for private events, working to establish open container laws downtown as well as other important recommendations to the City Commission that affected change to the cities caf6 policy for outside seating and laws regarding nuisance parties and-underage drinking; and WHEREAS, the City Commission continues to understand the importance of examining the issues for which the Community Alcohol Coalition was created; and WHEREAS, a number of groups in the community are actively meeting to examine these same issues and work on solutions to ongoing problems; and Page 1 of 2 Resolution 4515, Dissolving the Community Alcohol Coalition WHEREAS, the City Commission acknowledges the efforts and resources for alcohol related issues throughout the community and has encouraged these groups and resources to make recommendations to the City Commission; WHEREAS, the City Commission and staff will solicit the recommendations of existing groups and resources for alcohol related issues whenever possible when related policy decisions need to be made and the City Clerk's office will maintain a list of related groups for communication purposes. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Commission of the City of Bozeman, Montana that the Community Alcohol Coalition is hereby dissolved. PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Commission of the City of Bozeman, Montana at a regular session thereof on the 3rd day of March, 2014.
