Please approve the funding for the Story Mill site. We just had the Secretary of the Department of
the Interior make a presentation about the need for connecting children with the outdoors, when
trends are headed otherwise. This park will provide a rare opportunity for children in Bozeman to
come in touch with nature unlike many “city” kids can. We know that children are averaging almost
8 hours of screen time per day. The opportunity to connect children in the outdoors will help form
the basis for future environmental stewards – a necessity in this “Last Best Place.”
