Dear Bozeman CIty Commissioners,
I write to urge you to vote "Yes," to approve the Story Mill Community Park Proposal which would transform the 54-acre Story Mill site into a significant community park. If approved, the proposed park plan would help restore wetlands, preserve wildlife habitat, protect critical open-space, help with overall area water quality, would create connector trails to Bozeman's existing trail system, and provide additional recreation and educational opportunities for our community.
I have just read The Trust for Public Land's proposal for the Story Mill Community Park. As a Bozeman resident and taxpayer, and a person highly values the parklands and trail system that help make this a healthy, livable community, this kind of project is one that I'm very willing to support. With Bozeman's continued growth, preserving this property as open space for a community park is prudent and responsible. That The Trust for Public Land's proposal indicates they will provide significant matching funds for the park's development, as well as reserves for its initial maintenance, along with so many other community organizations' willingess to provide additional support in creating this park, I urge you to vote "Yes!" to approve the land aquistion from The Trust for Public Lands and approve The Trust for Public Land's proposal to create the Story Mill Community Park.
