Dear Commissioners,
A big "Bravo Zulu" as we used to say in the Navy for putting the Story Mill Community Park on thiscoming Monday's agenda. This is just the sort of project that uses the funds from the recent parks andtrails bond issue in a manner that befits their highest and best use (in Val's and my humble opinion). Aproject that if approved, would mean a neat new park open to all in the community and wouldunquestionably be a valuable asset.
The fact that these funds would be leveraged by other funds is even better and this is just the sort ofwin/win energy that will make Bozeman an even more attractive place to live. This project also mightencourage others to step forward from the private sector or as individuals to enhance the spacefurther. An example of this is that Val and I would be happy to consider donating the funds that itwould take to build a contemplative labyrinth for people to experience (is an "at ground" structuretypically made of bricks, stones etc that people can walk on). Many organizations have these and theyprovide a nice touch of spiritual mindfulness to an outdoor setting. A great example of one lies in themiddle of the Colorado College campus in Colorado Springs, CO.
In closing, we hope the commission will consider voting in the affirmative for this wonderful initiativethat could enhance the quality of many lives (and plants & wildlife too) in our local region.
