Dear Bozeman City Commission,
I write to ask for your support to create the Story Mill Community Park.
My family and I live in the Legends neighborhood in the city and close to theproposed park. I regularly walk and ride my bike with my young girls by this land onthe way to schools and the library, and to shop in town. It would add tremendousvalue for us as a family to have these park lands both protected and enhanced,especially along the river, and to have access for a variety of purposes.
This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to acquire these lands and make themaccessible to the public. And as the far north side of Bozeman continues to develop,more and more residents will be able to enjoy this natural and cultural landscaperight in town.
I have reviewed the Trust for Public Land’s request for $4.5 million and believe thisto be a smart investment by the city in our future. This is precisely the type ofproject I envisioned when I voted for the city’s Trails, Open Space, and Parks bond.I hope together we can make this park a reality.
