Dear James,
Today, June 4, 2013, City Clerk Stacy Ulmen, received construction Bid Proposals for the City Hall Masonry
Repair project. The Proposals were submitted per the Contract Documents(dated May 20, 2013)as prepared
by Comma-Q Architecture, Inc. Stacy received three(3) proposals for this work. See the attached Bid
Tabulation Sheet.
Proposal One was received from Western Heritage Masonry, of Clyde Park, MT with
acknowledgment of Addendum 1,without a bid security, in the Base Bid amount of Forty five
thousand, seven hundred and three dollars($45,703.00).
Proposal Two was received from Anderson Masonry,of Bigfork, MT with acknowledgment of
Addendum 1,with a bid security, in the Base Bid amount of Seventy thousand,fifty one dollars
($70,051.00).
Proposal Three was received from R&R Taylor Construction, of Bozeman, MT with
acknowledgment of Addendum 1,with a bid security, in the Base Bid amount of Fifty thousand four
hundred dollars ($50,400.00).
With the non-inclusion of a bid bond security in Proposal One,we are required to reject this proposal from
Western Heritage Masonry. We have discussed this with the bidder and they understand the reasons behind
the required rejection of their bid. This results in the next apparent low bid being received from R&R Taylor
Construction.
Comma-Q Architecture, Inc. has reviewed the Proposal and Contract Documents for the Construction
Contract and has found all documents to be in order. We have also discussed the scope of work with the
Bidders, based on this review and discussion, recommend award of the Base Contract to R&R Taylor
Construction in the amount of$50,400.00.
