MEETING DATE: March 17th, 2014 AGENDA ITEM TYPE: Consent RECOMMENDATION: Authorize City Manager to sign the Professional Services Agreement with Morrison Maierle, Inc. for the 2014 Wastewater Collection System Facility Plan Update. BACKGROUND: Attached is a copy of the partially executed Professional Services Agreement with Morrison Maierle, Inc. for the 2014 Wastewater Collection System Facility Plan Update Project. The document is in the City’s standard format. Last fall, the Commission gave three developments approval to proceed by utilizing sewer capacity from a different drainage zone then their properties were in. Part of that agreement was that the developers would each contribute $50,000 towards funding an update to the collection portion of the City’s 2007 Wastewater Facility Plan. That update would analyze the changes that would need to occur do to the changes to drainage zones caused by the three developments and reexamine all of the drainage zones to determine if other changes are warranted. All of the modeling will be updated, and milestones for improvements will be established. These services were procured through the City’s consultant selection process. A Request for Proposals was published in the Bozeman Daily Chronicle on October 6th and 13th, with the proposals being due on October 25th. Proposals were received from 3 firms on the project which were distributed to a selection committee of 5 city employees. The team of Morrison Maierle/HDR was chosen as the most qualified based on the written proposals and interviews. UNRESOLVED ISSUES: None ALTERNATIVES: As suggested by the City Commission FISCAL EFFECTS: $149,546.00 from the Wastewater Fund which was contributed by developers as part of an agreement for service.
