COMMISSION RESOLUTION NO. 1370
A RESOLUTION APPROVING
A PROPOSED LAND EXCHANGE WITH THE UNITED
STATES FOREST SERVICE
AND AUTHORING THE MAYOR AND CITY CLERK OF
THE CITY OF BOZEMAN
TO EXECUTE A CONVEYANCE OF REAL PROPERTY
PURSUANT THERETO.
I WHEREAS, it has been proposed that the City of Bozeman exchange Lot I and Lot 2 and the
South Half of the Northeast Quarter (S~NE%) of Section 29, Township 3 South, Range 6 East, M.P.M.,
Gallatin County, Mon~ana, containing 192.85 acres, reserving, however, to the City of Bozeman
the
right until January 1, 1972 , to cut and remove from the
above described lands all dead or down
timber, all standing lodgepole pine 8 inches and over in diameter and all other timber 10 inches
and over in diameter, diameters to be measured outside the bark at a point four and one-half
feet above the ground, for a conveyance by the United States to the City of Bozeman of the South
Half of the Northwest Quarter (S~NW%) of Section 8, Township 3 South, Range 6 East, M.P.M., in
Gallatin County, Montana, containing 80 acres more or less; and,
WHEREAS, the lands above described now belonging to the City of Bozeman are not now used or
held by the City of Bozeman for a public purpose; and
WHEREAS, it is to the best interest of the City of Bozeman to complete the proposed exchange
of lands with the United States.
NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved by the City Commission of the City of Bozeman:
Section l. That the above proposed exchange of lands be, and the same hereby is
authorized
and approved by the City Commission of the City of Bozeman and the Mayor and the City Clerk of
I the City of Bozeman be and they hereby are authorized to make, execute and deliver all necessary
documents, including deeds reasonably required to accomplish the foregoing land exchange.
Section 2. That this Resolution shall be, and the same is hereby declared to be
effective
immediately upon its adoption and approval.
Passed and adopted by the Commission of the City of Bozeman at a regular session held on
the 19th day of June, 1968.
