Hello,
I am writing to voice my strong support for this project. We have 6 grandchildren in Bozeman and
they have all played some type of sports that involve fields. Currently our grandson is on the varsity
LaCrosse team, the fastest growing youth sport in the country and the state of Montana, and they
have 300 kids with 1 field! The coaches have spent many hours trying to find places for them to
practice and some of the players have resorted to use the upper deck of the parking garage and the
“horse barn” for practicing. Certainly these kids who work so hard and train so much deserve a
better location for their practices and games. Because it is not an “official school sport”, they do not
get the attention or the possibility of using school fields.
Last spring, when the state tournament was held IN BOZEMAN, bringing lots of parents,
grandparents and visitors to the city for a weekend of spending, shopping, hotels, etc., the only
fields available were those at MSU, and they were costly! We could certainly host many
tournaments with a new facility with fields and there would be many economic benefits for the city!
I am sure that there are several good causes for support, but hope serious consideration will be
given to this great group of kids when you approach this decision.
