City Commission and TOP Committee,
The sports park that will be presented on March 7 will become a regional draw tothe Bozeman area. Currently, youth and adult sports teams (soccer, lacrosse, rugby,and other) from nearby states and Canada travel to places like Denver, Salt LakeCity, Jackson, WY, and Seattle to play in tournaments. A sports park in Bozemanwill become a regional magnet for Bozeman to draw people to sports tournaments. These tournaments fill hundreds of hotel rooms, and sell thousands of meals andproducts from local businesses. The economic benefits are enormous. This projectis likely the only one that will have economic benefits to the community that willmore than pay back the development costs.
A sports park will also be a place for Bozeman residents and their children to engagein healthy lifestyle activities. Trail systems will lead to this park and contribute tothe livability of Bozeman that we value. These are Bozeman community values thatare the reason we live here. A Sports Park facility is long overdue in Bozeman, soplease support this proposal.
