Dear TOP Committee and Bozeman City Commission,
I am writing this letter in support of the sports park under consideration for funding. I love
Bozeman. It is truly a special place to live. My husband and I moved here from Colorado
almost 10 years ago looking for a place to raise our kids, be outdoors and connect with our
community. Bozeman is that place.
With that being said, what I have found from living in Bozeman, when you have young
children involved in sports is you spend a fair amount of time driving from city to city to play
. Not that the views aren't magnificent, they are. But I certainly would enjoy more time in
Bozeman and less time in the car. One way to do this for many families just like mine, is to
provide access to quality facilities for outdoor sporting events that will allow many
organizations like soccer clubs, lacrosse and rugby to provide more home games and
tournaments. As I have spent time in Jackson Hole, Kalispell and Great Falls, I have often
wondered why we don't have similar facilities in Bozeman. While visiting these places I am
spending hundreds of dollars on gas, food and entertainment. Wouldn't it be great if all of
that money could go directly back into the Bozeman economy and into the wallets of our
citizens.
A facility like the one being proposed will be a huge asset to the Gallatin Valley in so many
ways: economic, improving access to outdoor space and to overall health and well-being of
our community. It is my hope that you will fully fund this propsal.
