Dear Commissioners:
I am writing in support of acquiring and transforming the Story Mill property into aflagship park for the Bozeman Community.
We raise cattle, and love that area for its historic connection to Bozeman's livestockheritage. We also realize that Bozeman is growing by leaps and bounds, andanother park for the community would be used by a huge percentage of thecommunity.
Children in Bozeman are deeply connected to the outdoors, and the Story Millproperty is a terrific "transitional zone" for the valley-to-mountains edges of GallatinValley. What an amazing gem a park like this would be for Bozeman, as acommunity that prides itself on its connections to our incredible Montanaenvironment!
As I watched the amazing flooding of today's thaw, water flowing everywhere, I wasalso reminded of the need for water cleansing zones. This park would be an integralpart in restoring high water quality to water exiting Bridger Canyon and enteringGallatin Valley.
We will enthusiastically support the creation of this paprk. ALthough we live inMadison County, Bozeman is our "city of support", and its beauty, variety, andofferings for children and adults fill our lives with richness every year.
