I am writing you today in support of the proposed sports field facilities that will address a tremendousneed for more outdoor recreational sports fields for the largest growing sport in the state of Montana letalone the US, lacrosse. We are a family of 5. My wife and I and three growing boys ages 7, 9 and 11. We have lived in Bozeman for 10 years and enjoy all the parks and open space that our wonderful townhas to offer. I grew up playing the great game of lacrosse and played through college and beyond. Acouple years ago I started coaching youth lacrosse here in Bozeman and now all three of our boys areplaying and even traveling to other towns to compete. We have attended tournaments in Jackson, WYas well as Billings and Missoula, MT. Our facilities locally are sorely behind the times and it greatlyhampers our ability to host tournaments in Bozeman, which is not only a potential source of pride but agreat potential for increasing revenue to our local businesses. We see the need for a sports park forlacrosse because of the huge growth in the past several years both in Bozeman and throughoutMontana. As mentioned, lacrosse is the fastest growing sport in our community, and we should belooking ahead to the future and not in the rear view mirror. Although we have children playing socceras well, we hope that both sports can benefit with the new development. Bozeman needs a high qualityfacility that reflects the quality of our children, coaches and community. I would encourage you tosupport this project to the greatest extent possible.
