Dear Honorable Mayor and Members of the Bozeman City Commission,
Please accept this e-mail in support of the proposed Bozeman Sports Park. As you may be aware,
significant volunteer hours and collaboration have been invested to date toward the effort of
developing a high quality facility that properly reflects the quality of our community and the youth
that live here. The people who have been working on this effort represent a high level of
sophistication and organization that ensures that a project of this magnitude can be completed
should the future efforts be any reflection of past efforts.
Bozeman enjoys some very robust youth sport options compared to its peers on a statewide and
regional level, yet we lack a facility that properly acknowledges not only current levels of
participation, but future growth as well. To that end, Bozeman has had limited opportunity to
compete for high quality tournaments through which we are able to showcase our community.
Considering that much of the financial implications of the open space bond rests with commercial
properties, the prospect of Bozeman hosting tournaments of this caliber would provide the
opportunity for these businesses to realize some benefit from the economic input that well run
youth sports tournaments generate. I am optimistic that your board and the Bozeman City
Commission will view this project favorably and that Bozeman will finalize be in a position to boast of
the quality of its youth sports facilities.
