HomeMy WebLinkAboutSports complex Public Comment from the Kaisers 3-14From:Sue To:Agenda Subject:Bozeman Sports Park Date:Sunday, March 02, 2014 3:49:53 PM To The Bozeman City Commissioners, The Kaiser family requests your overwhelming support in funding, to the greatest extent possible, the proposed Sports Park facility for the youth of Bozeman and visiting athletes. Our family has been a part of the Bozeman community for 32 years. We have experienced first hand the growth and development of our fine community, and have been so grateful to raise our 3 kids here. Over the course of the last 16 years we have been a part of the community of families, using and enjoying all the trails, community ski hill, Bogert Pool, MSU fields and Bronken fields for all our sports activities. Bozeman is filled with families just like ours, and much more growth is expected. We travel endlessly for sports activities like soccer, and Lacrosse and are often surprised by the fact that our community…home to MSU, a progressive University constantly improving its facilities/programs to draw more accomplished students…does not have its own sports facilities for our youth that reflects the quality of our athletes and commitment of our community to its athletic endeavors. The ability to host events in a location as appealing as Bozeman, would give all the clubs the opportunity to create many revenue generating tournaments and clinics that families would love to attend and plan vacations around. As a result, we could increase the exposure of our athletes to a broader community of coaches and scouts who are anxious to have a reason to visit Bozeman. We need enough fields however, and a quality comprehensive plan to facilitate a variety of uses and reflect the quality of our community now and in the future. We ask you to enthusiastically fund this proposal. It is our belief that it will add immeasurable value to the image of Bozeman as the best place to live in MT and the Northwest, it would be a great complement to MSU which is growing in prestige, and greatly benefit the community businesses and youth of Bozeman. Thank you for working so hard to make Bozeman the wonderful place it is. And thank you for supporting the youth athletes of Bozeman and Montana. Respectfully, Bill, Sue, Julia, Olivia and Will Kaiser kaiserhouse5@gmail.com
