My name is Sarah Cawley and I am the parent of two children who have the privilege of
growing up here in Bozeman. I'm am writing to you today in high hopes that the proposal
for the Bozeman Sports Park will pass with your approval.
My daughter began playing lacrosse the first year it was offered in our community. Over
the past 3 years, I have watched her and her teammates grow into an impressive team
and win the very first state lacrosse championship. I've watched girls from both our middle
schools get to know each other and become close teammates.
Lacrosse is the fastest growing youth sport in the country and the state of Montana. For all
our town has to offer young athletes, Bozeman Lacrosse currently has 1 City of Bozeman
field for nearly 300 youth players! We would benefit from a high quality facility that reflects
the quality of our kids and community, which would have to be large enough to meet the
current and future needs of our organized field sports programs. This facility should be
asports park that is of the quality and size to accommodate and host statewide and
regional tournaments and the millions of dollars of associated annual revenue. I've
watched the restaurants and hotels in Missoula, Helena and Great Falls benefit from
tournaments. Our town could benefit as well!
I hope that you will consider how much this facility would be an asset to our town and
approve the proposal.
