We are one of the last larger cities in Montana to fund and install a field/turf complex. I can hardly believe we haven't done it already. Not having these facilities equates to lost economic opportunity for our community. Furthermore, sports facilities in general are the limiting factor in children participation in healthy activities that promote life-long healthy lifestyles. As the "healthiest" community in the state (recently awarded) it is time we catch up with the rest of the state and invest in facilities that promote healthy lifestyles for all our residents. Lastly, I want to stress the importance of including artificial turf in the complex – you must include at least one turf field at the complex. Because turf can be plowed off in the snowy months, it will drastically extend the season for sports that depend on grass fields; participation will expand with a longer season for all these sports. Thank you for your consideration.
