Dear TOP committee and Bozeman city commission,
Bozeman desperately needs a sports park with playing fields. The Adam Bronken Sports Complex was designed to serve 300 players. Last year, the Bozeman Blitzz Futbol club
served 1400 recreational players, 150 Academy developmental players, and 200 Competitive traveling players. These numbers do not include the players in AYSO soccer, Bozeman
Adult League Soccer and other sports such as lacrosse, rugby, ultimate frisbee, etc. The Bronken fields can’t support this growth. This issue needs to be addressed and the proposal
for developing 80 acres on the northwest side of town into a Sports Park is the answer.
The Bozeman Blitzz would like to develop high quality regional tournaments that draw in
teams from surrounding states — tournaments that will be an economic boon for our community. Billings, Kalispell and Helena are able to host tournaments because they have
facilities with ample field space. Bozeman cannot develop and grow regional tournaments without a sports park and field space. We can’t even host the Montana Youth Soccer state
tournaments because they require a minimum of 10 full size fields. I am sure the lacrosse club has similar tournament plans. A sports park in Bozeman would generate millions of
dollars of associated revenue for our business community.
Bozeman is wonderful place to live and raise a family. We need a sports park that reflects the quality of our kids and our community. Please cast your support to fund at the greatest
level possible a high quality sports park that will reflect a commitment to our youth that will be a source of pride for our city.
Sincerely,
Britt Bodtker
