Director’s Report
February 25, 2014
STREAMLINE: Everything seems to be up and running.
Grant season is rapidly coming to an end. The MDT Grant, United Way and Area
IV Grants are all due at the end of the month. The board will need to approve the coordination plan for the MDT Grant. I will include a copy of it with this report so everyone has
a chance to look it over prior to the meeting on Tuesday. Please pay particular attention to the bus request. It is a little different than what we have discussed as a group but should
be a very welcome addition to our fleet.
Another action item for the agenda should probably be an agreement to extend our contract with Karst as our provider unless of course the
board would like to go out for bids.
We are currently preparing an RFP to move all of our transportation software under one company. We are currently using separate companies for Galavan
and Streamline and would like to have one company in charge of both.
I have had several conversations with Jerry at Harlow’s about repairs to the bus they were delivering when the
tire blew out and damaged our bus. Their insurance has denied their claim and he is asking for our help in paying the $2,500 bill. I think that it would be in our best interest to
pay for the cost of the repairs in a show of good faith. The $2,500 pays for the repairs and does not include any money for the work done by Harlow’s.
GALAVAN: Galavan added 18 new
customers in January and gave a total of 2,028 rides in 21 days of service.
Galavan is now fully staffed with 5.5 drivers. We are now scheduling up to 150 rides a day although
the total rides per day are closer to 100 because of the number of cancels and no shows we get daily.
I have sold advertising for the backs of 4 Galavan buses for a total of $4200.
