Brian Krueger Development Review Manager bkrueger@bozeman.net Department of Community Development City of Bozeman, MT 406.582.2259 www.bozeman.net From: REX [mailto:rexeaston@msn.com] Sent: Monday, February 03, 2014 11:17 AMTo: Brian KruegerSubject: South University District Phase 1 MiSub file P13048 This letter is to ask for your consideration of Mandeville Creek which is really not a creek but an irrigation ditch. Immediately to the south of the 127 acres are several springs that have made this acreage a wetlands. The springs naturally channeled into a ditch on this property that my lake water and decreed water traverse. There used to be a lot of water in this ditch year round but with subdivisions to the south dewatering to build and draught conditions, the ditch really has no water except for irrigation water that is sent down. The purpose of this letter is to address maintaining the ditch and also to reconsider the storm water drain-off being proposed by the developers for this project. There are two storm drains--one that travels north alongside the current ditch and dumps onto Kagy Blvd. and back into Mandeville Creek for the horses in the pasture to the North, and the second storm water drain that dumps into the irrigation ditch (Mandeville Creek). This water is used for livestock and for gardens and for this reason really do not want storm water mingling with irrigation water. Please reconsider this storm water discharge and perhaps it should be routed to So. Eleventh St. Thank you. Peggy Easton 167 Cougar Dr. Bozeman, MT 59718 406-587-8328
