HomeMy WebLinkAbout01-24-14 Galavan / Streamline Advisory Board Director's Report / Director’s Report January 28, 2014 STREAMLINE: Everything seems to be up and running I have received word from Adam at MDT that we have been awarded a second transit bus. The paperwork is in the mail and we should be able to spec it out soon. The total cost is yet to be determined but will be close to $400,000. I would expect both of the transit style buses to be delivered in the spring of 2015. The Operations Committee is recommending applying for one transit style bus and a 17 seat Galavan bus for Fiscal 2015. The Clean Slate Group has started the process of wrapping our first five buses. The one they have finished looks great and should save us some money in the long run. They have 602 scheduled for wrapping in the near future. There are two scheduled meetings in Three Forks to discuss the possibility of extending Streamline to the west end of the valley. The meeting on Monday the 27th is at noon and Thursday the 30th at 6:00 pm. These meetings will be held at the Christian Center. Our advertising guru has returned to school so we need to decide what to do about the advertising on the Streamline system. There has been some discussion of removing the monitors altogether and moving on to Plan B. GALAVAN: Galavan added 13 new customers in December and gave a total of 1,672 rides in 21 days of service. We now have 661 active customers which is the most ever. Lost in the discussion of transit buses was the fact that Galavan was also awarded a 13-passenger body on chassis bus for the current year. Match for this bus should be around $10,000. We are working through some budget issues and hope to add a new full-time driver for the remainder of the fiscal year. Wess Delonge has been filling in on a contract basis but we are hoping to add him as a regular employee in the near future.
