COMMISSION RESOLUTION NO. 1494 -1".,11..../ I ,I .' f ..... /~y RESOLUTION _ INTERGOVERNMENTAL PERSONNEL ACT 1970 WHREREAS, Congress of the United States has provided funding to improve public services rendered by all levels of government. WHEREAS, this opens major avenues for Intergovernmental Cooperation to improve personnel systems. I WHEREAS, the quality and effectiveveness of personnel resources is of importance to local government. WHEREAS, the State of Montana has a desire to explore possibilities of a uniform personnel program. WHEREAS, local government is desirous of participating in development of a uniform personnel program. WHEREAS, financing of a program as such should be done jointly between the state and local government. NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED; that the City of Bozeman joins with other local governments throughout the state in supporting the concept that local government planning monies, namely the Intergovernmental Personnel Act of 1970 funds not be apportioned in small amounts to units of local government, in a manner which would inhibit the development of a desirable, coordinated and comprehensive personnel program, and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City of Bozeman records its support of the proposal of allowing said local government Intergovernmental Personnel Act planning funds to be directed to the Montana League of Cities and Towns, our representative organization, to be used by said I League to develop a local governmental Personnel program in cooperation with the State of Montana.
