A RESOLUTION OF THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF BOZEMAN, MONTANA, DECLARING

IT TO BE TO THE BEST INTEREST OF THECITY OF BOZEMAN AND THE INHABITANTS

THEREOF AND OF THE INHABITANTS OF A TRACT OF LAND CONTIGUOUS TO THE SAID
CITY OF BOZEMAN AND HEREIN MORE PARTICULARLY DESCRIBED TO EXTEND THE
BOUNDARIES OF THE SAID CITY OF BOZEMAN SO AS TO INCLUDE THE SAID CONTIGUOUS
TRACT WITHIN THE CORPORATE LIMITS THEREOF.
I WHEREAS, there has been presented to the City Cmmmission of the City of Bozeman a written
and verbal request petitioning the said City Commission to extend the boundaries of the City of
Bozeman so as to include certain contiguous tracts of land within the boundaries of the City of
Bozeman and having presented to the City of Bozeman proposed plats and certificate of survey of
said land; and
WHEREAS, the proper legal description of said contiguous tracts located in the County of
Gallatin, State of Montana, is as follows:
That portion of the Northeast one-quarter (NEt) and that portion of the East one~half (E~)
of the Northwest one~quarter (E~NWt) of Section Six (6) Township 2 South, Range 6 East,
M~P.M;',' and that portion of the South Half of the Southeast one-quarter (lJ.iSEt) , and that
portion of the Southeast one~quarter of the Southwest one-quarter (SEtSWt) of Section
Thirty~one (31), Township 1 South, Range 6 East, M.P.M., lying northeasterly of the
Burlington Northern Main line right of way, southerly of the southerly East-West one-
sixteenth line of Section Thirty-one (31), westerly of the Gallatin Valley Railway
Company right of way and northwesterly of the Burlington Northern Railroad Company
(Story~Mill Spur) right of way, as shown on the attached plat and more particularly
described as follows:
Beginning at the center of Section Six (6), Township 2 South, Range 6 East. M.P.M.,
said point being the point of intersection of the centerline of North Rouse Avenue
and the southerly line of the Northeast one-quarter of said Section 6 and also being
the present northerly City of Bozeman Boundary; thence North 88'42' East along said
northerly boundary line a distance of 1152.55 feet to a point of intersection with
the northwesterly right of way line of the Burlington-Northern Story Mill Spur track;
thence North 38057' East along said right of way a distance of 1761.5 feet; thence

290.1 feet; thence North 30022' West a distance of 579.~ feet to the south line of
the county road known as Griffin Drive; thence North 69 48' East along the southerly
right of way line of said Griffin Drive a distance of 439.19 feet; Thence East along
the South right of way line of said Griffin Drive a distance of 334.47 feet to an
intersection with the westerly right of way line of the Gallatin Valley Railway
Company; thence North2003l' West along said westerly right of way line a distance
of 70 feet more or less to a point of curve being rablroad station 1205 * 63.4;
thence along said railroad right of way being on a 3 51'40" curve to the right of
1482.69 feet in radius, a distance of 508.92 feet; thence continuing along said
railroad right of way North 1029' 36" West a distance of 388.92 feet to the southerly
right of way line of Montana State Highway F.A.S. Route 293 commonly known as
Bridger Drive; thence continuing North 1029" 36" West along said railroad right of
way a distance of 17.98 feet to railroad station 1196 * 65 being the beginning of a
curve to the left; thence northerly along the railroad right of way being on a curve
to the left of 6026'38" having a radius of 817.89 feet a distance of 340 feet to
a point of intersection with the southerly East-West one sixteenth line of ,Section
Thirty-one (31), Township 1 South, Range 6 East, M.P.M.; thence South 88035'12" West
a distance of 2426.30 feet to the North-South one-quarter line of said Section Thirty-
one (31); thence continuing South 88035'12" West along the southerly East-West
one-sixteenth line of said Section Thirty-one (31) a distance of 700 feet; thence
South parallel to and 700 feet distant westerly from said North-South one-quarter
line of said Section Thirty-one (31) a distance of 1273.9 feet more or less to
the northerly right of way line of Griffin Drive; thence South 88033'13" West
along the north right of way line of Griffin Drive being parallel to and thirty
(3\)) feet distant northerly of the south line of said Section Thirty-one (31)
a distance of 1297.46 feet to the northeasterly right of way line of the main
line of the Burlington-Northern Railway; thence South 38024' East along ~be
northeasterly right of way line of said Burlington-Northern Railway Company a
distance of 2453.28 feet to a point of intersection with the westerly right of way
line of North Rouse Avenue; thence South along said westerly right of way line of
I North Rouse Avenue a distance of 704.96 feet to a point on the East-West one-
quarter line of Section 6, Township 2 South, Range 6 East being the northerly
boundary of the City of Bozeman, Montana; thence North 88042' East a distance of
30 feet to the center of said Section 6, being the point of beginning.
Containing within the above described exterior boundaries the following Blacks and

WHEREAS, it will be for the best interest of the City of Bozeman and the inhabitants thereof

and of the inhabitants of the contiguous tracts hereinRefore described to extend the boundaries I
of the City of Bozeman so as to include the said contiguous tracts hereintiefore described within
the corporate limits of the said City of Bozeman.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF BOZEMAN:
Section 1. That pursuant to the provisions of Section 11-403, Revised Codes of Montana,
1947, it is hereby declared to be to the best interest of the City of Bozeman and the inhabitants
thereof and of the inhabitants of the contiguous tracts hereinbefore described that the boundaries

of the said city of Bozeman be extended so as to include the contiguous tracts hereinbefore
described within the boundaries and corporate limits of the City of Bozeman, Montana.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Commission of the City of Bozeman, Mo
held on the 8th day of December, 1971.

COMMISSION RESOLUTION NO. 1499 OF THE CITY OF BOZEMAN STATING THE
INTENTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION TO EXTEND THE BOUNDARIES OF SAID
CITY OF BOZEMAN TO EMBRACE AND INCLUDE A CERTAIN TRACT OF LAND ADJOINING
SAID CITY.
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on the 8th day of December, 1971, at a regular meeting of the
City Commission of the City of Bozeman, the said Commission duly and regularly passed and adopted
Commission Resolution No. 1499 entitled:
"A RESOLUTION OF THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF BOZEMAN, MONTANA,
DECLARING IT TO BE TO THE BEST INTEREST OF THE CITY OF BOZEMAN
AND THE INHABITANTS mHEREOF AND OF THE INHABITANTS OF A TRACT OF
LAND CONTIGUOUS TIi> THE !AID CITY OF BOZEMAN AND HEREIN MORE PARTI.:.
CULARLY DESCRIB& TO EXTEND THE BOUNDARIES OF THE SAID CITY OF
BOZEMAN SO AS TO INCLUDE THE SAID CONTIGUOUS TRACT WITHIN THE
CORPORATE LIMITS THEREOF."
NOTICE IS HEREBY FURTHER GIVEN THAT Wednesday, the 5th day of January, 1972, at one fifteen
I o'clock p.m. at the Commission Room of the City Hall, Bozeman, Montana, is designated as the
time and place for hearing objections to the action proposed to be taken in said Resolution No.
1499, wereby it is proposed to embrace the contiguous territories described in Exhibit "A"
attached hereto and by this reference made a part hereof, within the corporate limits of the
City of Bozeman, Montana. Expressions of
approval or disapproval by resident freeholders of
the territories proposed to be embraced must be made in writing and filed with the Clerk of the
City Commission of the City of Bozeman not later than twenty (20) days after the date of the first
publication of this Notice.
A description of the boundaries of the territories proposed to be embraced by said Commission
Resolution N. 1499 is attached hereto as Exhibit "A"
and by this reference is made a part hereof.
This Notice is given pursuant to the provisions of Section 11-403, Revised Codes of Montana,
1947.
