RECOMMENDED MOTION: I move to appoint Lessa Racow to the Design Review Board.
BACKGROUND: The Design Review Board has one ongoing vacancy for a landscape architect. One landscape architect has applied. She is also currently a member of the Tree Advisory Board.
The Design Review Board was created under Section 18.62 of the Bozeman Municipal Code.
Members are appointed to staggered two-year terms. The Board is charged with the design review of certain plans and proposals and should be comprised of six professional and two non-professional members. Professional members should be degreed in their respective disciplines
and/or otherwise licensed or certified by their respective professional authorities. They shall
include 4 Architects, 1 Architectural historian, 1 Landscape architect/designer, and 2 non-
professional members. At least one of the professional members shall have a demonstrated expertise in urban design. The non-professional members shall have an interest in, or knowledge of, architecture, urban design, or historic preservation. No member shall serve as a member of
the City Planning Board or the Zoning Commission concurrently. The Board is generally
advisory to the City Planning Board, Board of Adjustment, and the City Commission, although it
does make the final decisions on some minor applications. There is one ongoing vacancy for a landscape architect and one landscape architect applying.

Landscape Architect I have gained experience working on many land planning and subdivision
projects as well as commercial building sites. I hold a Masters of Landscape Architecture degree,
have been employed in the landscape architecture field for nine years, and have been licensed for the past three years. Currently I run my own commercial landscape architecture firm, inContour
PLLC, located here in Bozeman. I have greatly enjoyed my continued experience volunteering
on the Tree Advisory Board and would like to contribute more to the city and Bozeman
community as a member of the Design Review Board. I feel that my professional experience
would greatly contribute to this board and would be honored to sit on the board as a citizen.
