RESOLUTION PERMITTING THE CITY OF BOZE!~I TO ISSUE GENERAL OBLIGA- TION BONDS, FIXING THE EXACT AMOlmT OF THE BONDS TO BE ISSUED, AND CALLING AN ELECTION FOR THE ISSUMICE OF SUCH BONDS. I . ----- BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF BOZEMAlI, MONTANA, AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Be it resolved by the City Commission of the City of Bozeman, Montana, as follows: That general obligation bonds be issued by the City of Bozeman for the following purposes: PROPOSITION NUMBER ONE To renovate an existing swimming pool in Bogert Park; to secure a site for and construct, furnish, and equip a new 50 meter outdoor swimming pool; to provide local funding to match an approved Bureau of Outdoor Recreation Grant for a Recreation Complex on city-owned property known as the "Old Elks Country Club"; to upgrade, expand, and renovate park and playground facilities at Beall Park, Bogert Park, Cooper Park, Hyalite Park, Kirk Park, Lindley Park, North Grand Park, and South Side Park; the amount of bonds necessary to be issued for this purpose being estimated at $600,000.00. PROPOSITION NUMBER TWO To erect, furnish, and equip an enclosure structure for a new 50 meter swimming pool, the amount of bonds necessary to be issued for this purpose being estimated at $300,000.00. That the propositions be submitted to the duly qualified electors of the city of Bozeman, Montana. Section 2. An election is hereby called and directed to be held in and for the city of Bozeman I on Tuesday, the 6th day of November, 1973, in the various precincts and at the polling places as set forth in the notice of election hereinafter contained, between the hours of 8:00 o'clock a.m. and 8:00 o'clock p.m. for the purpose of voting on the questions of issuing general obligation bonds. Said election shall be held coincidentally with the general election on said day, and the judges and clerks of said general election shall act as the judges and clerks of said bond election. Section 3. At said general election all, but only, the duly registered and qualified electors of the city of Bozeman shall be entitled to vote. The Clerk of the City Commission is hereby authorized and directed to give notice forthwith to the County Clerk of the call of said election. The County Clerk shall, after giving due notice of closing of the registration books, prepare printed lists of the duly qualified and registered voters entitled to vote at said election, and shall prepare precinct registers for such election for each precinct of the city in the form and manner required by law. Section 4. The purposes for which said bonds are proposed to be issued and the exact amount of bonds to be issued shall be set forth in the form of ballot hereinafter prescribed. The number of years through which such bonds are to be paid shall be twenty (20) years. Sectio~ The Clerk of the City Commission is hereby authorized and directed to give notice of the call and holding of said election by publication, once each week for a period of not less than two I (2) consecutive weeks immediately preceding the date for holding said election, one of such publications to be upon the last day upon which such newspaper is issued before the election, in the Bozeman Daily Chronicle, published at Bozeman, Montana, and by causing notice to be posted in at least three (3) of the most public places in each voting precinct in the city at least ten (10) days prior to the date of said election, which notice so published and posted shall read substantially as follows: NOTICE OF ELECTION CITY OF BOZEMAN, MONTANA NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on Tuesday, the 6th day of November, 1973, an election will be held COMMISSION RESOLUTION NO. 1619 - .-. ."- "-- - ~.,_..- ~ . - - -- _. ..-....... -"'_.........-, ... Willson School Precinct No. 5. Emerson School Precinct No. 6. City Hall Precinct No. 7. Longfellow School Precinct No. 8. Irving School Precinct No. 9. Whittier School Precinct No. 10. Student Union Bldg. (Bozeman) Precinct No. 11. Bozeman Sr. High School Precinct No. 12. Fieldhouse The polls for said election will be opened at 8:00 o'clock a.m. and will remain open until 8:00 o'clock p.m. on said date of election. Section 7. The Clerk of the City Commission is authorized and directed to furnish to the judges of election all other necessary and convenient facilities and supplies for said election and the re- turns thereof. Said election shall be conducted and the returns made in the same manner as other city elections. The votes cast at said bond election shall be counted separately from the votes cast in the general election, and the returns for said bond election shall be made separate from the re- turns for said general election, and returns must be made separately for the proposition submitted at said election.
