Adoation of the 2005 National Electrical Code and Modifications to Other
Currently Adopted Codes
WHEREAS, on February 24, 2006 the State of Montana, Department of Labor and
Industry, Building Codes Bureau, adopted the National Electrical Code (NEC) 2005
Edition and modifications to the International Building Code (IBC), 2003 Edition;
International Energy Conservation Code (IECC}, 2003 Edition; International Mechanical
Code (IMC), 2003 Edition; Uniform Plumbing Code (UPC), 2003 Edition; and
WHEREAS, ON February 24, 2006, the State of Montana, Department of labor and
Industry, Building Codes Bureau, repealed the prior edition of the 2002 NEC and
portions of the 2003 IBC, IECC, IMC and UPC which directly apply to its jurisdiction.
NOW, TI~REFORE, in conformance with the Notice from the State of Montana,
Department of Labor and Industry, Building Codes Bureau and Bozeman Municipal
Code Section 15.01.010. the City of Bozeman hereby adopts those portions of the
National Electrical Code, 2005 Edition and modifications to the 2003 IBC, IECC, IMC
and UPC which were adopted by the State Montana, Department of Labor and Industry,
Building Codes Bureau on February 24, 2006 and which apply to the City of Bozeman
jurisdictional area.
