ADMINISTRATIVE ORDER NO. 1997-02
Issued March 17, 1997
WHEREAS, record winter snowfall has acclunulated in the Gallatin River Basin and
record snow water content 'eiti,~sts within the lower, mid-level, and higher elevation zone
snowpack; and, -

WHERI+AS, they Staff Food Task Force predicts a high probability of signif cant flooding
occurring this Spring; and, ~ ~ ~ - ..

WHEREAS, the Elood Task Force predicts "average" amounts of precipitation this Spring
will exceed the cLlrrent flood of"record within the Gallatin River Basin; and,
WHEREAS, the Governor of the State of Montana has enacted Executive Order No. 4-97
and has declared an emergency due to the imminent threat of flooding; and,
WHEREAS, this potential flooding creates an imminent threat of disaster causing
immediate peril to life or property that can be averted or minimized through timely action,
NOW, THEREFORE, as principal executive officer of the City of Bozeman, I hereby
declare a local emergency for the City of Bozeman pursuant to M.C.A. § 10-3-402 and declare
that all provisions of the City Emergency Operations Plan are in effect, to include all applicable
provisions of the interjurisdiction plan with Gallatin County, until terminated by separate
Administrative Order.
BE IT FURTHER DECLARED, that copies of this Administrative Order be filed with
the Clerk of the City Commission and the Montana Disaster and Emergency Services Division
in Helena, Montana.
