CDL -URINE DRUG AND BREATH ALCOHOL TESTING
The Federal Highway Administration of the United States Department of Transportation has
mandated urine drug testing and breath alcohol testing for individuals whose job position requires
a commercial driver's license (CDL). The City of Bozeman will conduct urine drug and alcohol
breath testing of individuals whose position requires a CDL in accordance with this Federal
mandate, more specifically 49 C.F.R. Parts 382, 391, 392 and 395, as amended.
The City hereby adopts the written testing procedures of the collection and testing laboratory.
The collection and testing laboratory shall make its written procedures available to any person
subject to testing. The laboratory shall provide a chain of custody documentation for each
specimen tested. The laboratory shall comply with all Federal regulations and guidelines,
including but not limited to 49 C.F.R. Part 40 and 49 C.F.R. §382.105.
Each employee subject to testing will be provided and will acknowledge in writing receipt of a
copy of this Administrative Order.
