Director’s Report
October 22, 2013
STREAMLINE: 214 is back in service. Now the only question is who is going to pay for the damage done when the tire blew on the way
from Whitehall. The cost is about $2,200. 204 is going in for major repairs to the tune of $4,500. Other than those two issues everything else looks pretty good.
We have been tentatively
approved to receive a transit bus with the assistance of MDT. The official word will not be received until the middle of November after the director has a chance to look over all of
the requests. At this point, if we chose to continue to pursue this style of bus, it would not be delivered until early 2015.
I have sent contracts to both Bridger Bowl and Bohart
Ranch quoting the new price of $62.50 per hour. I am waiting for the final word from Bridger but Bohart is in for sure as long as Bridger signs on the dotted line.
The delegation
from Rexburg, Idaho was here on Thursday. They brought 17 people interested in improving the public transportation in their area. I am still in contact with the folks in Moscow who
are also interested in visiting with us about our operations.
GALAVAN: Galavan added 9 new customers in September and gave a total of 1,500 rides in 20 days of service.
We have
hired a part-time driver who will begin the first of November but we are still searching for a full time driver. We have a good candidate but he can’t start until after the new year,
but I hate to wait that long for a driver as we are entering our busiest season of the year.
We do have a Karst driver who is interested in helping out as well.
