HomeMy WebLinkAbout09-14-13 Galavan / Streamline Advisory Board Minutes / Director’s Report September 24, 2013 STREAMLINE: It has been a recent hassle to keep buses running and all routes covered. 603 is developing a crack in the roof. 605 should be back at work by board meeting time. 614 is still in the body shop at Harlow’s and 615 is developing some cracks in the bustle back. By board time Dan should have three bids from companies interested in wrapping the Streamline buses. This appears to be a cheaper and quicker option than having them painted. I have been in contact with Bridger Bowl about renewing our service for the winter. I have proposed a $2.50 hour raise in our rates to help offset the cost of our increased budget with Karst and the flexibility in fuel costs. I am waiting to hear back from their board. Delegations from Moscow and Pocatello, Idaho are interested in visiting Bozeman to study our Streamline system. Both are very interested in how we do business. I am waiting for return phone calls with dates for the visits. I will keep everyone informed about the times and dates so we can give them a nice presentation about the system. GALAVAN: Galavan added 11 new customers in August and gave a total of 1,573 rides in 22 days of service. We are back to the drawing board in search of drivers. One of our recent hires moved back to his old position with First Student so we are advertising again. We are also working with RSVP for volunteers who might be willing to drive on a part-time basis. Dan and I have also agreed that we will cross train Streamline drivers so they can come over and help with Galavan during times of need. The drivers will remain employees of Streamline and they will bill Galavan their going rate per hour for any hours their drivers drive for the para-transit.
