District (BTBID) Board of Trustees MEETING DATE: September 23, 2013

RECOMMENDED MOTION: I move to appoint Sandra Hodge and Benno Garwood to the Bozeman Tourism Business Improvement District Board of Trustees.
BACKGROUND: The Bozeman Tourism Business Improvement District Board of Trustees has
two terms which expired on July 31st, 2013. Three new applicants have applied for these
positions. The Bozeman Tourism Business Improvement District Board of Trustees recommends that the City Commission appoint Sandra Hodge and Benno Garwood for the two open positions on the board. This recommendation occurred at the August TBID meeting.
In August, 2009 the City Commission created the BTBID Board to manage the newly created
District (Cht. 2.90, BMC). The mission of the Board is to promote tourism that generates room nights for lodging facilities in the city of Bozeman by effectively marketing the region as a preferred travel destination. BTBID members are appointed to four year terms. Board appointees
must either be a property owner within the District or the duly authorized designee of an owner
of property within the District.
The Bozeman Tourism Business Improvement District Board of Trustees currently has two expired terms and three applicants.
