CITY OF BOZEMAN
and
MONTANA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION
"Phis MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING is hereby entered into between the City
of Bozeman (referred to as City) and the Montana Department of Transportation (referred
to as MDT) for the purpose of exchanging maintenance services in order to provide a
better service to road users in and around the city of Bozeman.
Whereas the City lacks the equipment to provide road striping on routes maintained by
the City and;
Whereas MDT lacks resources to sweep routes under MDT j urisdiction to the level
desired by drivers and bicyclists;
MDT and City hereby agree to the following exchange of services;
MDT shall provide striping operator, crew, and equipment to the City as
requested and in a timely manner to be determined by weather, availability, and
schedules. Such services shall be rendered at no cost to the City.
The City shall provide striping material to be used by the department on City
maintained streets striped ender this agreement. MDT shall continue to provide striping
Irraterial, equipment, and manpower to stripe MDT maintained routes in Bozeman at no
cost to the City.
The City shall provide sweeping services on MDT maintained routes as requested
and in a timely manner to be determined by weather, availability, and schedules. Such
services shall be rendered at no cost to MDT
Both parties agree to meet yearly to identify and agree upon routes and locations
to be striped and swept at no cost to the other. Both parties agree to attempt to equalize
tabor hours and equprent costs to the greatest extent possible.
This agreement may be renewed yearly at the discretion of the parties.
