STREAMLINE:
Number 601 is parked at our bus barn and is being used for parts. 614 is
back in Whitehall for some body work after it blew a tire as it was returning to Bozeman.
There are three “commuter” buses in the bus barn for the time being. We have two buses at M
& W for various repairs.
Thanks to Billy and his crew all of the “Boy Scout” signs have been changed out. It turned in
to be more of a challenge than first thought. Billy has also been distributing brochures so we
should have the town pretty well saturated. The last pieces of the puzzle are the big maps and
they should be ready this week. The city should have the Streamline signs done soon. Please
let me know if you know of any discrepancies in signage.
Karst has a plan in place to try out a camera system that should help cut down on incidents on
all of our buses but especially the LateNight runs.
Taylor Lonsdale is taking the lead for WTI as our Transit Specialist and is very anxious to get
started on planning for the new year. We are looking forward to working with Taylor and WTI
to take a hard look at what we are doing and where we could improve. The first order of
business will be to develop a calendar.
GALAVAN:
Galavan added 8 new customers in July and gave a total of 1,496 rides in 22
days of service.
Galavan has a full crew right now and is looking for a new part-time driver to help during the
mid-day and whenever we need fill in because of vacations and sick. We will continue to look
for someone for Saturday as well.
We have had some interest shown by the fire department about our Galavan Bus #5 which is
out of commission and sitting out back of the bus barn. They would be interested in it as a
training vehicle, which means they will probably torch it and then use the Jaws of Life on it.
We would salvage whatever we could before sending it to its final resting place.
