HomeMy WebLinkAboutNURB Appointment.pdf Commission Memorandum REPORT TO: Honorable Mayor and City Commission FROM: Aimee Brunckhorst, Public Engagement Coordinator Stacy Ulmen CMC, City Clerk SUBJECT: Reappointment to the Northeast Urban Renewal Board MEETING DATE: August 26, 2013 MEETING TYPE: Action RECOMMENDED MOTION: I move to reappoint Jeanne Wesley-Wiese to the Northeast Urban Renewal Board. BACKGROUND: Ms. Wesley-Wiese’s term as a voting member expired July 31st and she has reapplied. All four non-voting positions remain vacant. This board is established under Section 7-15-4232 of the Montana Code Annotated. It consists of five members who serve staggered four-year terms after the initial appointment. The board shall consist of 5 voting members and not more than 4 non-voting members. The preferred composition of the voting members shall be: 2 business owners of businesses within the district; 2 residents from within the district; 1 member at-large. Voting members must reside within city-limits or own property within the district. The board shall be responsible to: (1) develop plans which implement the vision of the district; (2) review on an ongoing basis the operation and processes of all public agencies to assure that such activities are supportive of the plan; (3) advocate and coordinate the complete and full implementation of the plan. The NURB currently has one expired voting term and four ongoing nonvoting vacancies with one member reapplying.
