HomeMy WebLinkAbout07-10-13 Community Affordable Housing Advisory Board MinutesCity of Bozeman Community Affordable Housing Advisory Board (CAHAB) July 10, 2013 8:00 am – 9:00 am City Commission Room, City Hall Attending: Ann Kesting, Mary Martin, Melvin Howe, the Honorable Chris Mehl, Dave Magistrelli, Brian LaMeres Absent: Kris Keller, Margaret Boardman, Kyle Terrio, Director of Community Development Wendy Thomas Staff: Tracy Menuez (absent) Public: none The meeting was called to order at 8:00 am by Chair Brian LaMeres. Public Comment: None Action Items 1)Approval of minutes from June 12, 2013 – Motion to approve by Mary Martin, seconded by Dave Magistrelli. Approved. Non-Action Items 1)Ethics Training – Aimee Brunckhorst, Deputy City Clerk and Public Engagement Coordinator, provided the Board with its annual required Ethics Training, per City Commission Ordinance No. 1856 Aimee gave each member of the Board a copy of the “City of Bozeman Ethics Handbook” updated April 2013, and provided an overview of each section. Particular points discussed extensively included the Gift Provisions and Post-Employment Rules. Commissioner Mehl recommended that each Board member reads through the Handbook and asks either Aimee or City Attorney Greg Sullivan if they have questions. FYI/Discussion 1)Commissioner Mehl informed the Board that the Rental Housing funding request was approved in the City’s Final Budget, in addition to the $40,000 request for continued support of the Road To Home Program. 2)Mary announced something about a Tax Credit project that the Board might be seeing? Sorry, Mary, but I can’t interpret my notes! 3)David notified the Board that Habitat for Humanity will most likely be approaching the City to request sponsorship for a $10,000 CDBG Planning Grant for Low-Income Housing located on Ice Pond Row. This request would flow through the Board first and then the Board would make a recommendation to the City Commission. Adjourn – Motion to adjourn made by Ann Kesting. Meeting was adjourned at 9:00 am
