HomeMy WebLinkAbout07-23-13 Director's Report for Galavan / Streamline / Director’s Report July 23, 2013 STREAMLINE: Number 601 is parked at our bus barn and is being used for parts. 614 is in Whitehall for a battery issue. There are three “commuter” buses in the bus barn for the time being. Karst has been taking the Yellowstone buses to their shop to add pull cords to each one. 602 has a starter issue, but for the most part things have been going pretty well. The Streamline brochures are at the printers and should be done around August 1. Levi should have the wall maps and “Boy Scout” maps ready to go to the printer this week and so we should be back on schedule for an August 19 start date for all of our new features. We received two proposals for our RFQ for a Transportation Specialist. Lisa Ballard of Current Transportation Solutions and the Western Transportation Institute both submitted paperwork to be considered. I hope to have a decision by board time for a recommendation. GALAVAN: Galavan added 2 new customers in June and gave a total of 1,262 rides in 20 days of service. Remember the “official” birthday party for Galavan will be held Thursday, July 25 at the HRDC downtown location. Galavan has added a new driver to our fleet. Stephen Hunts has been added to our crew and should be out on his own next week. We are all hoping that Richard can really retire this time. We have had some interest shown by the fire department about our Galavan Bus #5 which is out of commission and sitting out back of the bus barn. They would be interested in it as a training vehicle, which means they will probably torch it and then use the jaws of life on it. We would salvage whatever we could before sending it to its final resting place.
