MINUTES OF THE SPECIAL MEETING OF THE CITY COMMISSION
BOZEMAN, MONTANA
May 23, 2013 **********************
The Commission of the City of Bozeman met in the Madison Room, City Hall at 121 North
Rouse on Wednesday, May 23, 2013. Present were Commissioner Cyndy Andrus,
Commissioner Chris Mehl, Commissioner Carson Taylor, City Manager Chris Kukulski, City Attorney Greg Sullivan and Deputy City Clerk Aimee Brunckhorst.

In the absence of the Mayor, Deputy Mayor and City Clerk, the Rules of Procedure designated
the Deputy Clerk to call the meeting to order. Ms. Brunckhorst called the meeting to order at 6:03 p.m. and asked that the Commission elect a presiding officer.
Motion and Vote to elect Commissioner Taylor to act as presiding officer at this meeting.
It was moved by Cr. Mehl, seconded by Cr. Andrus to elect Commissioner Taylor to act as
presiding officer at this meeting.
Those voting Aye being Crs. Mehl, Andrus and Taylor. Those voting No being none. The motion passed 3-0.
0:00:49 B. Authorize Absence of Mayor Becker and Deputy Mayor Krauss.
It was moved by Cr. Mehl, seconded by Cr. Andrus to authorize the absence of Mayor
Becker and Deputy Mayor Krauss.
Those voting Aye being Crs. Mehl, Andrus and Taylor. Those voting No being none. The motion passed 3-0.

Presiding Officer Commissioner Taylor opened public comment. Seeing none, public comment was closed.

1. Approve Liquor License for 14 North to sell Liquor at 14 North Church Avenue
Chris Kukulski, City Manager
Mr. Kukulski provided the staff presentation on this item explaining that the Commission is stated in the Bozeman Municipal Code as the authority that must approve a city liquor license.
The applicant requested this special meeting because the paperwork was not turned in prior to
the deadline (or the 48 hour noticing requirements) for placement on the last regularly scheduled
Commission meeting. The applicant has three soft openings scheduled prior to the next
Commission meeting on June 3rd.
Josh Palmer, Applicant Mr. Palmer with 14 North Restaurant thanked the Commission for holding this special meeting.
He thought they would be able to get this item on next Monday’s meeting as it was
communicated that way, but they had all forgotten next Monday is Memorial Day.
Public Comment Presiding Officer Commissioner Taylor opened public comment. Seeing none, public comment
was closed.
It was moved by Cr. Mehl, seconded by Cr. Andrus to approve a liquor license for 14
North to sell Liquor at 14 North Church Avenue.
The motion passed unanimously.
E. FYI/Discussion
1. Chris Mehl will be returning Tuesday, May 28th.
2. Cyndy Andrus will be out until June 3rd.
F. Adjournment
Presiding Officer Commissioner Taylor adjourned the meeting at 6:09 p.m.
